Simeon Hu
WRITER, DIRECTOR, PRODUCER
Simeon is an award winning filmmaker from Shanghai, China. Trained at NYU Tisch School of the Arts, his short romance film The Untitled Portrait of Red won the Gold Remi award at WorldFest Houston International Film Festival 2020 and was the finalist at AAIFF Film Festival 2020.
His fantasy, martial arts, romance feature web film《封神降魔》in 2018 garnered 20 millions views within 2 weeks on the Chinese streaming platform Youku. Due to its success, it generated two sequels and continues to be rated highly by Youku audiences.
Stephen Law
WRITER, DIRECTOR, PRODUCER
Stephen is an NYU Tisch graduate, specializing in writing and directing. His 2018 short family drama film One Summer Night was the finalist at New York Shorts International Film Festival 2020 and the semi-finalist at Flicker’s Rhode Island Film Festival. When not directing, Stephen writes short and feature screenplays that blend genres.
In 2020, his short horror script Waipo (Grandmother) was the quarter finalist at Hollyshorts Film Festival, Screencraft Horror Competition, and the semi finalist at WeScreeplay Short Contest. It is currently in preproduction and plans to shoot during June 2021.
Tairan Li
CINEMATOGRAPHER, WRITER, DIRECTOR
Tairan hails from Jinan in the Shangdong province of China. He is an experienced cinematographer and director. During his time at NYU Tisch, he has shot for various student short films and commercial work. Currently based in China, he is a freelance cinematographer for feature films, short films and corporate videos.
Wendi Tang
PRODUCER
Wendi Tang is a Chinese filmmaker with a passion for telling character-driven stories that delve into diverse female perspectives. A graduate of NYU's Tisch School of the Arts and Stern School of Business dual-degree program, Wendi’s directorial and producing work has been showcased at internationally renowned festivals such as SITGES, SXSW, Flickers' Rhode Island International Film Festival, the Norwegian Short Film Festival, deadCenter Film Festival, St. Louis IFF, HollyShorts, and more. Her short film [Fishtank] is the Tribeca Chanel THL Women Filmmaker's Program Winner and the Film Pipeline Short Script Competition Winner in 2022. It recently won Best Short Film at SXSW Sydney and AAPI Award at HollyShorts.
She’s a NYC Women’s Fund Recepient, Sundance Uprise Grant Finalist, a SFFILM Rainin Grant Finalist, and a BAFTA member. Currently, Wendi is developing her first feature film.
